Utah Cougar Attack!

“C’mon dude! I don't feel like dying today!” Kyle Burgess said in his now viral video on YouTube as he was running for his life being chased by a cougar in Slate Canyon Utah. Burgess is a Utah resident and went out to Slate Canyon for a usual run. “I found what I thought were bobcats on the trail during a run” Burgess told Fox News. He pulled out his phone and began capturing what could have been the last six minutes of his life. “Turns out they were cougar cubs and their mother was not happy to see me” Burgess told Fox News. For the next six minutes, Burgess filmed as the cougar chased him down the trail protecting her cubs. Burgees told Fox News “I didn’t really know what kind of cubs they were or what animal they were. Once I did realize what they were, I was like, that’s mom right there. I’m screwed-” he told Fox 13. He added that he did all the “right things" by not turning around, making himself ‘bigger,’ and making a lot of noise. “A few minutes in the cougar begins hissing and speeding up towards burgess. In the YouTube video the cougar even made lunges towards Burgess in attempt to attack him. Burgess continually yelled at the cougar and waved his arms and told it to go away. It wasn’t working, the cougar was still chasing him. About six minutes in, Burgess throws a rock at the cougar and it worked. The cougar finally ran away. “Holy cow. Yeah, not going back that way,” He said in the video. This video now has over one million views on Youtube. When asked about the video, Curtis Routson, a 26 year old who in fact lives near Slate Canyon said “ I thought he was going to die from the video. It was crazy. Its important to keep in mind that anything can happen, so be safe out there”
